Isabelle Swan-Mae Darling, MSW, has over 15 years’ experience working within non-profit and government sectors. She is best known for her trauma-informed mental health work with refugees, survivors of torture and the agencies that support them. She has designed tools, trainings and courses on community leadership, mental health programming and cultural awareness for national and global audiences, including the Office of Refugee Resettlement, International Rescue Committee, HIAS, International Social Development and the Harvard Program on Refugee Trauma. Having worked with communities from around the globe who have faced tremendous trauma, Isabelle Darling is forever motivated by the resiliency of individuals, families, and communities. Dedicated to serving as a guide to aid human rights initiatives, Isabelle offers grounding approaches in peace, curiosity, intra/intercultural dialogue, the healing properties of storytelling and leadership training.

Honoring her blended cultural background of Jamaican and American heritage, Isabelle is always seeking innovative approaches to common challenges where culture, social justice, and intergenerational wisdom is revered. Isabelle values her life experiences as her most valuable sources of education which she integrates into her education from Hampshire College and Simmons College where she received her MSW. Isabelle also received her 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training at Hayat Yoga Shala, a veteran-owned studio in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Braiding the practice of trauma-informed care, social work, yoga and interaction-based leadership, Isabelle Darling offers a multidisciplinary and healing approach to complex systems and community challenges.
