CLAIRE GOEBEL

strategic growth and development

Rocky Mount, North Carolina

< BACK

Claire Goebel leads Strategic Growth and Development at Engaging Inquiry, where she stewards emergent opportunities and collaborations that advance organizational strategy and social impact. Previously, Claire led growth for a neighborhood-nested, teacher-led and technology-enabled network of Montessori schools (as a founding Partner at the Wildflower Foundation), and for a national, youth-led, grassroots organizing movement to improve public education (as Chief Growth Officer at Students for Education Reform / Our Turn). A connector at heart, Claire believes that social networks that are intentionally woven with respect, reciprocity and shared purpose can transform livelihoods and communities. Her leadership and projects earned recognition from OpenIDEO’s Innovation Prize, SOCAP, NewSchools Venture Fund, the Policy Innovators in Education (PIE) Network’s Leadership Institute and the Transformative Technology Academy.

Claire is a certified yoga instructor and somatics practitioner, bringing training from Yoga Behind Bars, Strozzi Institute for Embodied Leadership and Duke Integrative Medicine to her practice. She makes her home in the Twin Counties community (Nash-Edgecombe) in rural, eastern North Carolina. There, she serves on the board of Freedom Organization, a non-profit dedicated to advancing social justice through agriculture and housing, and to uplifting the legacy of the town of Princeville, the oldest town incorporated by African Americans in the U.S. Claire also supports Trisha Moquino in her leadership of the Keres Children’s Learning Center and Indigenous Montessori Institute.
